UCDEA, in collaboration with Deans and Directors of UCD colleges/schools/and major academic offices/institutes, is conducting the first ever (we believe) survey of UCD emeriti by UCDEA.
LOOK FOR IT: The UCDEA Emeriti Survey of the first four UCD colleges/schools was launched on February 23. It will come to your email, but some have reported that it went into a folder other than their primary email folder, so look for it.
The UCD Emeriti Association launched 2024 with a Brain Food Talk by Barbara Sellers-Young that focused on the relationships between art and environmentalism in Oregon. It was virtual and brought together colleagues from around the state and nation. We look forward to the last Brain Food Talk with Kay Dewey which is currently being rescheduled, but likely in April or May.
The UCD Emeriti Association welcomed Carole Joffe, winner of the 2022-23 Distinguished Emeriti Award, back to Campus, November 14. She offered a compelling discussion of America post Roe v Wade.
The UCD Emeriti Association (UCDEA) Executive Committee met in a day-long retreat on October 12 to consider planning for our emeriti and the UCD community. A number of exciting new projects emerged, as well as rethinking on-going programs. Below is a brief summary of some of the day’s key decisions.
