The UC Davis Emeriti Association (UCDEA) was established in 1988, with the organizational mission of advancing the general welfare of emeriti* through such activities as:

  1. Monitoring actions at the statewide or campus level that relate to emeriti welfare, including retirement benefits, health insurance, recall procedures and salaries, and department rights and privileges relating to emeriti.
  2. Interceding on behalf of individual emeriti with specific problems relating to retirement status or transition.
  3. Working to obtain more equitable or more inclusive benefits for emeriti.
  4. Videotaping interviews with distinguished emeriti who played pivotal roles in the growth and development of the campus
  5. Providing information to emeriti on actions or events relating to their welfare through its newsletters and/or its Web site.

*  Emeritus or emeriti as used here denotes retired faculty of both sexes.
